What is the difference between the Nakamichi DR-1 DR-2 and DR-3?
The DR-1, DR-2, and DR-3 were cassette decks manufactured by the Nakamichi Corporation of Japan in the early 1990s. DR-1 in the series had the most features, whilst the DR-3, being a budget-end model had the least. Therefore, the DR-1 is more valuable of the three.

Nakamichi DR-3 is a very good cassette deck. Beautiful sound, solid construction and easy to use. Recommended. My tapes have never sounded better…. I’m playing all my cassettes now because they sound just as good as my CDs. Easy, simple operation….. love it! Superb sound and reliability.
Why was the Nakamichi DR-3 discontinued?
FYI, Nakamichi quickly withdrew the DR-3 from the market because it was cannibalizing sales—it was 70% of a DR-2 at 1/2 the price of the DR-2!!! The DR-3 is only a two headed deck and the heads are not the best available (Chrystalloy)—I think they are only SENDUST heads.
