03-02-2019 05:23 AM The Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe will not work. According to the XPS 8700 specs it supports mSATA (mini-SATA) and the Samsung is NVMe. You can use a 2.5″ SSD like the MX500 but like you said you will need a mounting bracket and a SATA cable.
