Can you trade special event Pokémon?

Some Pokemon are considered special trades. These Pokemon require more Stardust to trade and you can only complete one special trade per day (in our case you can trade up to six per day during the Go Fest 2021 event). Pokemon not already in your Pokedex. Legendary Pokemon.

Which Pokémon are special trades?

These are the types of Pokemon that are considered a Special Trade between trainers in Pokemon GO:

  • Pokemon not already in your Pokedex.
  • Legendary Pokemon.
  • Shiny Pokemon.
  • Pokemon with forms not already in your Pokemon (like Unown, costumed Pikachu, and Castform)

What is special trade Pokémon?

A Special Trade in Pokémon Go happens when you attempt to trade a legendary Pokémon, a shiny Pokémon, a Pokémon not in a player’s inventory. These trades cost the same amount as any other trade with players in Pokémon Go, but you can perform them once a day.

What counts as a special trade?

Special Trading involves Legendary, Shiny and pokemon that either trainer has not yet caught. Special Trading costs 40k Stardust per trade and is limited to one trade per day.

Can mythical Pokemon be traded?

This will unlock your special research event encounter with Zarude. You can capture him as you would any other mythical Pokemon. Remember this means you can’t use berries, so stock up on Pokeballs and keep throwing. This Pokemon cannot be shiny and cannot get traded.

Both people making the Trade pay the same amount of Stardust, or is it split between them? Both players pay the same amount of Stardust. Even if you’re only trading a Pidgey, when a special trade happens, you will still have to pay the higher Stardust cost.
