They make great gifts, and all you have to do is press your shirts and cut them into the basic shapes needed for any quilt pattern.

How to make a simple baby quilt?

1) Cut squares of fabric. Make all of your squares the same size. You can use any color you like, but you should make sure the colors coordinate. 2) Decide what size you want your quilt to be. 3) Determine how many of your squares you will need per side. 4) Match up fabric squares and sew them together in rows. 5) When you have sewn your rows together, proceed to sew the long sides of each row together by matching up the seams, pinning (or basting) and sewing along the 6) After all rows are sewn together, pick out a backing fabric. How do you quilt a baby quilt?

Pin raw edges of strip to raw edges of quilt, all the way around on the back of the quilt (flannel side). Sew the binding to edge of quilt with a 1/2-inch seam allowance, mitering the corners. Flip the binding over the raw edge of the quilt, and sew the folded edge to the front of the quilt with a decorative stitch.
