How does ORI valve work?

As the ORI valve starts to throttle the flow of liquid refrigerant from the condenser, a pressure differential is created across the ORD. When the differential reaches setpoint, the ORD starts to open and bypasses hot gas to the liquid drain line.

How do you set an ORI valve?

To adjust the ORI valve, remove the cap and turn the adjust- ment screw with the proper size hex wrench (1/4” for ORI-6 and 5/16” for ORI-10). A clockwise rotation increases the valve setting while a counter-clockwise rotation decreases the setting.

How does head pressure control valve work?

The flooded head pressure control valve maintains head pressure by backing up liquid refrigerant into the condenser, and in doing so reduces condenser capacity.

What materials are typical refrigeration condensers made of?

Their construction materials usually consist of a carbon steel shell with end plates and copper tubes. With a DX Evaporator, water circulates in the shell side while the refrigerant passes through the inside of the tubes. In a condenser, the water flows through the tubes while the refrigerant remains inside the shell.

What is a hold back valve refrigeration?

“hold back” valve. It is an upstream pressure regulator, and is designed to keep the condenser pressure from falling below a predetermined level. If the pressure at the inlet of the valve is below its set-point, the valve remains closed.

What is floating head pressure control?

The floating head pressure controller is a device designed to optimise the temperature difference between the condenser and the ambient conditions. It reduces the pressure to which the refrigerant must be compressed, reducing the power consumption of the refrigeration plant.

What is a flooded condenser?

Flooded condensers are the prime tower pressure-control methods for total condensers that generate only liquid products, and although these control methods can be troublesome, a good understanding of their principles will help achieve improved, trouble-free operations Pressure is the most important variable for …

What does ultra low ambient mean?

Low ambient package allows mechanical cooling at temperatures to -35 °F (-37 °C) Ultra low ambient packages work down to approximately -60 °F (-51 °C).

Which type of condenser is the most efficient?

Water-Cooled These shell-within-tube condensers are very efficient. Water-cooled condensers are more complex than air-cooled condensers as there are design considerations in water flow regulation and corrosion prevention.

What are refrefrigeration compressors?

Refrigeration compressors provide a refrigerant circulation in the system and, unlike gas compressors, are not used independently out of the refrigeration system. Differences in the working conditions of compressors in the structure of refrigerating machines from the operating conditions of general purpose compressors ones:

What is the difference between Ord and Ori?

An ORD valve is an integral part of the OROA valve. The operation of the ORD is described later. ORI – The ORI head pressure control valve is an inlet pressure regulating valve and responds to changes in condensing pressure only.

What is the function of the Oroa on a refrigerator?

OROA – The OROA is a nonadjustable head pressure control valve which performs the function of limiting the flow of liquid refrigerant from the condenser and at the same time regulates the flow of hot gas around the condenser to the receiver.

What are the as in air compressors?

As in the air supply, used in refrigeration compressors, positive displacement (reciprocating, screw, plate) and Kinetic Energy (turbochargers, ejectors). If playback doesn’t begin shortly, try restarting your device.
