Are backpacks allowed in Washington DC museums?
We allow backpacks in our museum. Public lockers are not available at this time. Visitors are permitted to bring food and beverages in sealed containers inside a backpack or other bag. It is difficult to say how much time it would take to visit any of the Smithsonian museums.

How long does it take to go through the Phillips Collection?
Just following the arrows on the floor and visiting an expanded gift shop (cafe is closed and the cafe space is used by the gift shop), it took us about an hour and forty minutes. A must visit whether you paid or free.
Can I bring water into museum?
Visitors are allowed to bring their own food and drinks into the Museum provided they don’t eat or drink inside the galleries.
Are strollers allowed in Smithsonian museums?
Strollers: Both entrances to the museum are stroller accessible and there are elevators to every floor. The hallways and exhibitions are fairly wide and should allow for easy access, even for double strollers!
