What are the requirements for ROTC in college?

A CONTRACTED Army ROTC Cadet must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be between the ages of 17 and 26.
  • Have a high school GPA of at least 2.50 or College cumulative GPA of a 2.0 (minimum)
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet physical standards (Pass the Army Physical Fitness Test).

Can anyone join ROTC in college?

Students can earn the ROTC scholarship in high school or in college. Students who earn the scholarship in high school receive four years of funding if they remain in the ROTC program.

Is it hard to get into ROTC in college?

Navy ROTC. This is a more difficult scholarship to obtain than the Army and Air Force Scholarship. For the academic year 2018-2019, more than 5,000 high school senior applications for the scholarship were reviewed. About 1,500 applicants were awarded a scholarship.

What disqualifies you from ROTC?

Some of the ones that most often can affect ROTC scholarship applicants are: Uncorrected vision worse than 20/400 in either eye. Vision that is not correctable to 20/20. Eczema after the age of eight.

Can you join ROTC as a freshman in college?

Do I have to join Air Force ROTC as a freshman? No. Any undergraduate student with three or more years remaining should be eligible. So if you are a second-semester freshman, a sophomore or otherwise and have at least three years remaining in your undergraduate studies, you are likely able to join the ROTC program.

Can I join ROTC without a scholarship?

No, not all ROTC programs are scholarships. It is possible to enroll in the ROTC without a scholarship, and by doing so voluntarily, you can receive specialized ROTC training without as significant a commitment.

Do you go to MEPS for ROTC?

Can you be overweight in ROTC?

Yes, there are some progressive physical fitness requirements and you cannot be overweight and complete the program. ROTC gives you the opportunity to learn what the military is all about these days – the role of the Army and its soldiers, (strategy, politics, technology, standards, career fields, etc.)

What are the requirements for Air Force ROTC commissioning?

An integral part of the Air Force ROTC commissioning program is Leadership Laboratory and Physical Training. Cadets are required to attend both functions and must meet all attendance and academic requirements in order to remain in good standing within the program.
