What can you see on a 6 week 3 day ultrasound?

At 6 weeks gestation, you might be able to see:

  • a black oval circle (black is fluid on ultrasound) which is the gestation sac.
  • A little white ring which is the yolk sac where the baby feeds from in the early weeks of pregnancy,
  • the embryo (foetal pole)and.
  • possibly the heartbeat might be visible.

Can you see a heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days?

A fetal heartbeat may first be detected by a vaginal ultrasound as early as 5 1/2 to 6 weeks after gestation. That’s when a fetal pole, the first visible sign of a developing embryo, can sometimes be seen. But between 6 1/2 to 7 weeks after gestation, a heartbeat can be better assessed.
