What countries can you use EE for free?

Are EE charging for roaming?

Mobile operator EE will charge new UK customers extra to use their mobile phones in Europe from January. Those joining or upgrading from 7 July 2021 will be charged £2 a day to use their allowances in 47 European destinations from January 2022.

How do I activate roaming on EE?

Setting up roaming on EE Customers on either PAYG or monthly plans can use roaming on their handsets. Simply text ROAMING PASS to 150 and you’ll receive a text confirming that you’re good to go, or instructions on how to set up the free service.

You can buy a roaming add-on to save money on calls, texts and mobile data when roaming outside the EU. You can add the Travel Data Pass by texting TRAVEL to 150 or you can buy a standard data pass when you’re abroad by typing add-on.ee.co.uk in your device’s browser.

Can I still activate roaming while abroad?

Yes. It is now allowed! Save yourself the time and hassle to subscribe to a new roaming package while abroad.

Can I use my UK Sim in Australia?

As long as your phones are unlocked you should have no problems. They sent it to us in Australia. Very easy to set up and it came with lots of data (20GB I think) and calls and texts too.

What is an EE Max plan?

EE Max Plans They come with unlimited minutes and texts, the biggest data allowances (up to 60GB), to use in the UK and 53 destinations around the world, including North America, Australia and the EU.

Does roaming need to be on or off?

This is important: Roaming charges can be exorbitantly high when you’re traveling abroad. Verizon, AT, and Sprint charge a lot of money if you use their data when you’re overseas. If you really want to be safe, I recommend turning off Cellular Data entirely when you’re traveling abroad.

If your plan started on or after 7 July 2021: If you take out a pay monthly handset or SIM plan from 7 July onwards, there will be a daily charge for using your phone in our European roaming zone (see list of destinations ). However, we won’t apply the new EU roaming charges until January 2022.
