What is Ayurveda Atisara?

The symptoms of diarrhea are described under the condition called as Atisaar in Ayurveda. Atisara (diarrhea) comprises of two words ati and saranam. Ati means excess and saranam refers to gati or flow. Therefore, Atisara (diarrhea) is a condition where watery stools are passed in excess, several times a day.

What is pakva (chronic) Atisara?

A contrariety of the preceding symptoms and a sense of lightness of the body and in the affected cavity would indicate that the disease has passed the acute stage and it is then called Pakva (chronic) Atisara.

What is the difference between amatisara and pakvatisara?

Amatisara:Stool in this kind of diarrhea is Picchila (slimy) with foul smell which sinks in water, is known as Amatisara. 2. Pakvatisara: Diarrhea with the feeling of lightness in the body and stool does not sink in water, then this condition is known as Pakvatisara.
