What is Olynth used for?
Olynth 0.5 mg/ml contains xylometazoline, which helps to narrow the blood vessels in your nose, reducing swelling of the mucous membrane (the lining in your nose) to help you breathe easier. The spray is used for short-term treatment of nasal or sinus congestion with a runny nose due to common cold or sinusitis.
How does Olynth work?
The drug works by stimulating adrenergic receptors on the lamina propria of blood vessels in the nose. The decongestant effect is due to constriction of large veins in the nose which swell up during the inflammation of any infection or allergy of the nose.
How do you use Olynth nasal spray?
Simply remove the cap and then pump into the air until a fine spray is released. Then you’re ready to go! After gently inserting into the nose, firmly press the pump once and repeat for the other nostril. One spray of Otrivin in each nostril two or three times a day is all it takes.
