Unilink announces new timetable for its bus services in Southampton. We’re releasing a new timetable for the 2019/2020 academic year from 22nd September. Travel by bus to help improve our city’s air quality. One double decker bus can take up to 75 cars off the road, helping to ease congestion and improve air quality.

The Southampton Plus zone is – All of the Southampton zone, plus Eastleigh, Fair Oak, Chandler’s Ford, Totton, Botley and Hedge End. The Bluestar & Unilink Network zone is anywhere a Bluestar or Unilink bus operates, which is the Southampton and Southampton Plus zone, plus Otterbourne and Winchester, Lymington, Hythe, Fawley and the Waterside.

How did Uni-link start?
The university made Uni-link a company itself and awarded the operation of this service under contract. The first contract winner was Minerva Accord, who started their 5-year contract at the beginning of the 2001/2002 academic year.
What happened to the Uni-link smartcard system?
In July 2013, Uni-link changed their smartcard system to ‘The Key’ smartcard that adheres to ITSO specifications and is currently used by several other companies owned by the Go-Ahead Group.
